Talking Dice (Eco Version): Two dice, two secret choices... and you know the results!
Imagine letting a spectator take two dice, secretly choose a face on each, and then lock them inside a box—all without you seeing what they chose.
Yet, after simply holding the box up to your ear, you can announce the number chosen on each of the two dice!
With Talking Dice, the spectator places the two dice into the small container designed for this purpose, making sure to position their chosen faces facing upward. The container is then closed and placed inside the outer case.
The situation seems completely impossible: the dice are locked away, you cannot see their faces, and the spectator freely participates in the process.
And yet... the dice seem to speak to you!
The magician can then reveal the result of each die, one after the other.
A very direct mentalism effect
The appeal of Talking Dice lies in the simplicity of the effect.
There is no long story to follow: two dice, two secret choices, two impossible revelations.
You can even present the trick with a touch of humor by explaining that the dice can "speak to you" when you hold the box to your ear. This presentation style is used in various commercial versions of the trick.
The trick is also particularly practical for close-up magic, events, or impromptu situations; its compact size makes it easy to carry and ready to use whenever the opportunity arises.
Special feature of the Eco version:
This version has a key characteristic: the two supplied dice are identical. Unlike versions that use dice of different colors, this version does not naturally lend itself to a revelation like "the red die shows X and the green die shows Y." It is designed primarily to reveal the two chosen values.
The dice in this version are white with blue and red dots. The 1 and 4 faces are red, while the other pips are blue. This follows a traditional graphic convention for Asian-style dice: the 1 and 4 faces are traditionally depicted in red.
